Classical Guitar: How to improve your Right Hand Playing
Author: Will Kalif
Your left hand gives the note and the right hand determines almost everything else on the pitch, timbre, volume, texture and all the subtleties of that comes from the classical guitar. However, it is often overlooked when it comes to practice. If you want to really improve your classical guitar playing you need to start focusing on technique right hand. Here are some tips on how to do it.
Practice the types of cerebrovascular accidents
Many beginner guitarists do not realize that there are two different types of shots to the right, you can do. The first shot (and most common) is the free kick, where the fingers do not contact anything after plucking the string. The second type Stroke is the race when the finger rest stops on the next string down after the harvest. Practice your scales and arpeggios with both types of stroke.
Walking on the ropes
You can set up your own drills that improve your game right hand and I recommend you do walking exercises at the beginning of each test session.
Walking exercises are exercises where you just play the six strings of different ways, depending on your toes. You can do this without leaving any of the strings with his left hand (open) or you can stop.
Heres how: Simply boot the continuation of the six strings alternating between index and middle fingers. It's pretty easy? You started with the index finger plucking E right strings? Switch now and start your collection with your finger on the low E! It feels a little different right? Now, make a model of three fingers with index fingers middle and ring. And of course the combination of this model up from one other than your index finger. This probably will feel a little weird at first, but keep the same. With a simple practical exercise like this, play classical guitar, greatly improved.
Free Pdf written by a master
A number of studies call 120 right hand exercises for classical guitar. Matteo Carcassi wrote these studies and are in the public domain for free. The exercises vary in difficulty are suitable for beginners to advanced. You gradually work your way through them over time. The use of these studies is an excellent way to improve further right hand over the game and also improve the skills of sight reading.
A recommended book
If you are looking for more suggestions on how to improve your game I recommend you take a book by Scott Tennant called "Pumping Nylon". I admit it and are part of my regular practice sessions. It exercises practical right and left. In 2006 a new version of this book for beginners was published. There is also a nice DVD version available if you have visual learning style.
Because the left hand is closer to your eyes, and because most people are focused on improving the right hand of the right hand is often neglected. But if you really want to take your classical guitar playing to the next level, you must make a conscious effort to improve his right hand. His game speed, clarity and ability Express with the instrument will be greatly improved.
