Resume Blunders - tell the truth about his credentials
Author: Rebecca Metschke
You are a little shy, your credits in MBA, and you're tempted to go ahead and list grade who have been given to their CVs. After all, the company you are interested in interviewing anyone, even without an MBA if you do not tell this lie, it will take a miracle to be a foot in the door.
Do not. Grades are easily verified, and most companies (and certainly most employers) will be taken time to validate their credentials.
To say society does not have a strict requirement for MBA. What is the starting point of the barrier in the past, that is through one or two rounds of interviews, and then be discovered during a check of credentials? Not only do you not supply, the disappointment could hurt on the road. Things like this have a way of adhering to a candidate.
My advice - tell the truth.
If actively being complete, the solution is simple. List of university and graduation date of something like this:
MBA from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, to ensure, in December 2008.
Moreover, if you do the degree that their experience is argued that the company must tell you, even if forget one of these requirements. You never know how the company is a prerequisite. There can be any number of variables (for example, may have had problems trying to find quality candidates) and then go ahead and give it a shot without frills.
If you work with a recruiter is his job to try to convince now hiring an exception.
Of course, people will slip and be recruited through a fake resume, although the truth tends to come out eventually - sometimes dramatically. Stories pop up regularly in the news in high-profile leaders who are in trouble when people discover I really do not have educated said they did.
It happened recently when one of the most powerful figures in the gaming industry (President and CEO MGM Mirage) resigned as questions swirled about his academic career. His biography says he was undertaking an MBA from USC, but a fraud private investigator found otherwise. Initially, officials at MGM was by his men - but history does not die.
Apparently this executive then tried to explain, saying it had completed courses for the degree, left for work, and then was an honorary MBA. A spokesman for USC however, said the school has received an honorary Masters since 1933 - and only five were granted in its history.
And if a lie apparently small, without opposition for so many years, returns with a vengeance.
Not ready for this type of fall. Do yourself a favor, say truth.
