How can you measure the temperature of a piece of nickel-chromium wire when electricity is running through it?
I doing an experiment on how the tension in a piece of scrap from nickel-chromium wire, temperature change but do not know how to measure temperature wire. Can anyone help?
There is a nice way to do it - use the thread to measure their own temperature. Nichrome has a positive temperature coefficient resistance between 0.00013 and 0.00017 per degree C (depending on the alloy). After diving into the water wire at a known temperature, for example 20 degrees. Place a voltage known through it, for example, 1 volt. Measure the current through the wire I, and using Ohm's law to calculate R theresistance [20] = V / I. Now when you want to measure the wire temperature, volts, amps and the measurement and calculation of the resistance Rx. If the drag coefficient is 0.00013, the temperature t is t = 20 + (1 - (RX / R [20])) / 0.00013
