Belize Great Blue Hole is actually worth DIVING

Belize Great Blue Hole, it's worth diving
This is a question that is asked repeatedly in many forums Diving through the Internet and the responses it receives are sometimes misleading, depending on experience whose responses diver.
This article is written to provide an unbiased source of objective information based on the reaction of hundreds of divers who had the opportunity to speak following a dive Blue Hole.
Since I was a dive in Belize since many years and love the country, some readers will say, of course, I encourage the Blue Hole in a positive way, but the truth is true that I personally believe that 90% of the divers, is a beautiful experience of a big jump and a great addition to Belize diving.
The Big Hole Blue Belize is 1,000 feet long and 460ft deep and forms a nearly perfect circle. It has been a favorite fishing spot of fishermen in Belize for a hundred years and in 1970 was presented to the public by Jacques Cousteau in his ship the Calypso gives the Blue Hole, for the first time and said his wonders in a television documentary.
Belize's Blue Hole unique in many ways, one of which is the only blue hole in the world that can be seen with the naked eye from outer space.
It is a fact that thousands of years, the Blue Hole was a cave that was above sea level, the reason I know this is because stalamites and stalagmites can be formed under water, and only can grow with the ground drip already happening in many stalactites in the caves above ground systems.
When you consider that more than 100 years of stalactites grown an inch is an extraordinary spectacle to see a 40ft stalactites that took thousands of years to reach this size. Stalactites can be found in the Blue Hole 100 feet dangling from the ceiling, some over 40 feet long.
The Blue Hole and its surrounding area has been designated World Heritage Site is the only and is another of the many protected areas in Belize. (Did you know that nearly a third of Belize's territory is designated as protected reserves)
Many people do not realize it, but there are only 2 points of diving at Blue Hole, north side is the most popular side larger vessels, due to relatively easy access to that side, and then their is the south side, which usually only smaller vessels can access due to the wind direction and the fact that he must be dove in the circumference of the hole itself.
Each has only about 300 feet of stalactites hanging after just a flat wall, basically, nothing. In northern dive site, simply stalactites (those hanging down) with nothing but the abyss below, on the south side, having both stalagmites is 145ft where there is a small ledge which has some stalagmites, the next time you are more likely to satisfy the resident population of sharks.
In the post positions, incorporates many read that some divers see many sharks, while the other divers do not see and there is no simple explanation for diving that if residents see sharks or not.
Several years ago before this huge population has become a near daily occurrence, we have the opportunity to Blue Hole to see sharks, but always on the south side, and almost never when he plunged into the North, which was 99% of the time, because as mentioned the size of the vessel, was used only allows us to dive on the south side .. when winds were favorable
So why do some divers can see sharks and not others? Heres blade
Almost all vessels dive Blue Hole San Pedro see sharks on many occasions, and the reason is that comes to the Blue Hole before the assailants and other large ships size, so that the stations are located in the region. (Mental note here that the often very experienced divers usually reserve the cruise and stay Atoll in the remote stations, as this is the best diving in Belize can be found)
Be the first to dive the Blue Hole gives them a better visibility from the first group diving visibility is reduced. (in these days due to the large number of boats and divers, visibility is almost always very bad in comparison to another fantastic dives in Lighthouse Reef)
When you consider that San Pedro is sending a large number of ships per day in the Blue Hole, you can understand why those who dive more late morning on the pretext (Lets wait until the boats depart from San Pedro if less busy) a dive site that was probably 50 divers through it even soon have the opportunity of diving.
This puts them at a distinct disadvantage in the quality of diving in particular in the field of visibility 40-50 divers bubbles and reduces visibility to a maximum of 50% in some cases, there are more sharks.
Sharks sometimes follow you throughout the dive, but are mostly used at the end of the Immersion is available with a security stop and about 10 minutes until the edge of sand located 15 meters is buzzing and play up to 30 sharks Caribbean reef. (not guaranteed)
Sharks are encouraged to return to the surface water trap with sardines which should lead to the surface of the bottom Blue Hole and gives the diver the opportunity to see these magnificent creatures in the safety stop.
Cruises are not the attraction of water, no local stations and if it is unlikely that sharks were reduced by 90% so you can clearly see that most of the divers who dive Blue Hole of a local or dive center has significantly smaller atoll Due to these reasons.
Bait is now banned, but some operators still do to try to get the depth of the sharks.
It is usually very experienced divers who are usually the Cruise, as it usually gives them the best diving opportunities Belize and that is quite correct with the exception diving at Blue Hole based on how they currently operate as the diving.
Over the years, repeating a question is displayed on the message boards is different Diving the Blue Hole dive Worth? and you will see the same response time and again not worry about his loss of time its a diving well worth it and everything else.
Why is there so much difference in the large cities in the opinion, my answer is that most of the regulars on the boards, ie those who later at least once a week are usually less active and divers are experienced and have had the opportunity to experience several places in the world and gives advice freely, but may others. This injustice relatively new diver comes at a message board and the issue is the Blue Hole dive is? Most of the responses I've seen on message boards electronic negative when asked this question, especially because I think it is a very experienced diver can have 1,000 dives assets and when launched the Blue Hole was probably a cruise ship after a lot of other divers had dove and his experience of the world, was less impressed by the Blue Hole, then puts his experience to understand this relatively new diver Dove Cozumel has since certification and has 20 dives under his belt, he obviously thinks that this expert diver knows exactly what he is talking, and decided not to dive the Blue Hole because of what they said.
When this happens fairly new diver Belize and asked do you want to dive the Blue Hole Ohh I did not reply, I have not heard his sake that I can ask who told you this, and get an answer I read on a board messages, or my friend arrived in Belize and he told me, so I ask what was diving the Blue Hole, while he was here, then? and gives me an answer Oh, no, but had heard that it was not worth not when diving in Belize. I've heard this time after time. I explained then, the Blue Hole trip and I had some guests in the house who have just returned and then I say something, they sell a journey for me, but if I have internal divers so I will tell you about the trip and encourage them to go and I usually add that if I do not think it was worth it I'll be there to return the money, it goes without saying, so far, I've never anyones money refunded normally are very grateful that I talk to her and let them make there own mind and I'm happy to break the cycle of O No. I've heard that fashion was unnecessary.
Why What should I do if I have more money to keep them at home? The reason is that I'm the first to say that Belize has many different regions of each dive and only in that it has to offer, depending on what the specific Diver looking for a holiday (this is another Article of Belize to follow soon) I want the diver to revisit a positive impression of Belize diving and all I can do is increase the enjoyment of Belize diving then I will.
The Blue Hole is a dive one voice, while it may be a great addition to any notebook dive was less impressive for divers with thousands of dives under his belt, but the other 95% of divers to dive and really enjoy him as a different positive pleasurable dive.
The next time you see a question posted on a bulletin board wonder about the Blue Hole to be sensitive to the diversity experince ask when you meet them. Divers who have had the opportunity to travel around the world, with thousands of dives under the belt is less than an emotion, however, the average diver to participate in diving at Lighthouse Reef and the Great Blue Hole of Belize can feel sharks strange and simple difference will be an unforgettable diving experience for them, give them the opportunity to make their own judgments.
